Spring is in the air….YES! I love a new season!
When changing seasons means warmer and longer days, then it makes most of us more motivated to get going! Our mornings are a good indicator of how the day will go.
So how does your morning look lately? Do you need a simple spring morning reboot like me?
If you live in the colder states and experience long winters like I do up in New England, then you know spring is a pretty exciting change. You’ve probably been spending a little more time in those cozy beds like me. It is just too cold some mornings. That can make it tough for me to get up and get going in the morning.
And just as the seasons change, so do our routines.
When the nicer weather begins to emerge I feel invigorated and excited to get my day going.
I just saw the crocus’ bursting through the dirt at my local church the other day and my heart leaped. This made me rethink my mornings and how I have been slow to go for this past cold & cozy season.
To get motivated in the mornings I decided to do a few easy things. Nothing crazy. If you’re relating to my words at all, then c’mon and join me to give yourself a simple spring morning reboot.
Set the alarm
Yup! It is that simple. Set the alarm to go off a least a half hour before you normally get up.
Get out of bed
Again, simple. I am much better at setting the alarm than I am about getting up out of bed when it tells me to. Very important step here.
Breathe in fresh air
Head to a window, stand in the doorway, go wherever you can access fresh air. Breathe it in with 10 slow, deep breaths. Fill your lungs and exhale just as slowly.
Believe it Will be a Divine Day
Before you jump into the rest of the day, take a moment to reflect on the simple fact that you are awake, up, and breathing, and there is a plan for you today.
Pray and read God’s word – even meditate on one verse that reminds you that you are His. He is for you, no matter what the rest of the day holds. You have been given the gift of today to rejoice.
Spring is a time of new beginnings. Fresh starts.
Each new day is just like this too. I have so much hope when I set my heart on Jesus and remember that this is His day….given to me to display His grace and glory.
These no brainer steps will help you achieve a simple spring morning reboot!
