When March rolls around we are all getting a bit itchy for spring up here in New England! The red and pink hearts have been packed up. I am just longing to get out the spring flowers. But first…
I begin looking for Fun and easy Saint Patrick’s Day activities to do with my kids!
Shamrocks, gold coins, and rainbows!
These are some of our favorite Saint Patrick’s Day Activities!
I will usually head over to my Saint Patrick’s Day Pinterest board at the beginning of March and look for some fun printables. There are some amazing ideas in there!!
I often do word searches, coloring pages, and do-a-dot paint pages.
I print off some of my own Printable Clover Shapes, which are great for just about any St. Patrick’s Day craft.
Stamp Painting Shamrocks
- Toilet paper rolls
- Rubber band
- Green Tempera Paint
- Craft Paper – green or white
This is one of the most simple activities for kids of all ages to make. Using a toilet paper roll, dent in the top to make a heart-like shape then put a rubber band to hold it in place.
Let the kids dip it in green paint then make three prints joined together at the bottom on your craft paper. Add a little stem with a brush or little fingers.
Simple!
We like to wear our St. Patty’s Day hats and bows while we do it too!

Gold Coin Hunt Sensory Bin
Another fun way to celebrate Saint Patrick’s Day with kids is this sensory tray! It is perfect for little hands. You can grab most of these items from a local dollar store, but I have links here too so you can see them.
To put this activity together, spread out some plastic gold coins on an activity tray then cover them with a big heap of foamy shaving cream.
Sprinkle green glitter on top for fun and allow your child to dig for the coins. Add a small top hat or a black “pot-of-gold” in the corner for them to put the coins in.
Even with multiple kids this is easy to prep multiple times, you just need new glitter on top each time.
Rainbow Mosaics
- Craft Paper – cut in squares
- Glue Sticks
This activity is as simple as it sounds! Provide the kids with rainbow-colored cut squares of craft paper. Using either black or white paper let your kids spread the mosaic squares into a rainbow shape and glue them on.
That’s it!!
You could add a pot of gold too and I think one of my kids did a cloud on hers (sorry, no pic on that).
