Are you in awe of the beauty found in falling leaves? The shapes, colors, and even the smell of fresh falling leaves just call to be picked up and admired. Find some beauties and create this lovely Leaf Rubbing Art.
Leaf Rubbing Art is a simple way to take all of the beautiful falling leaves and get creative. This uses items you have at home already and brings nature to life!
Leaf Rubbing
This super simple and fun activity can be done with little to no preparation!
- Have your little ones collect some leaves of different shapes and sizes.
- Place the leaves backside up on a piece of paper and lay a white paper on top.
- Using fall-colored crayons, remove the paper on the crayon and gently rub over the leaves with the side of the crayon. (It is important to use the side of the crayon for a good result.)
The natural veins of the leaves will make dark lines while the rest is a lighter shade.
Kids really enjoy this simple activity so be sure to have LOTS of paper and crayons on hand.
Here are some items we use:
- White rolls of paper
- White Construction Paper
- Crayons with NO wrapping (easy-peasy)
- Classic Large Crayons (great for little hands)
They can experiment with different colors and patterns.
Once their Leaf Rubbing Art is completed, you can frame and display them for your fall decor.
