Art is not my strong area, so I need to be intentional and simple. Check out our simple and stunning Goldenrod Watercolor Art.
Recently, we were hiking and saw these amazing bright yellow flowers growing wildly. After some reading, we learned about the bright and lovely Goldenrod.
According to Gardenia.net, “Solidago” or Golden-rod are:
- A lovely perennial that bears fluffy conical panicles about 12 inches long
- Blooms for many weeks late summer to early fall
- Forms an upright, tight clump up to 32″ tall of brilliant golden-yellow flowers
- Thrives in full sun and in many different soil types
- Attracts birds and butterflies
- Brings cheerful borders to any garden
These stunningly bright wildflowers grow all throughout the forest and are nice and tall to get close up for observation.
Combining Nature with Art
Many wildflowers are attributed to the springtime, and while there are SO MANY beautiful blooms in spring, the fall also has its share of warm-colored wildflowers. We were doing some botanical studies and love exploring seasonal changes.
Leaves are changing and make for fun art projects and crafts. All the beauty is enough inspiration to make it easier for even me to combine nature with art in our home.

Watercolor Art is such a simple activity.
Not all my kids enjoy art to the same degree, yet watercolor painting will bring them all to the table.
